Information management professional and passionate promoter of BIM for many years. Founding member of the UK IAI (BuildingSmart) in 1996 and former chair of the FM group.

IT/BIM advisor on several industry process improvement initiatives that have now become standards.

Led the team that developed the first AutoCAD integrated M&E design and coordination (BSLink) where the drawings were generated from the database. This was extended in 1991 to integrate with an early BIM application which covered architecture and structure (Sonata/Reflex) which effectively evolved into Revit.

Co-founder of BIW (then Conject/Aconex) which was the UK’s first project extranet and is now one of the largest.

Now working with several projects to managing the complete delivery from brief through design, construction and the population of the client CAFM system.

Supporting several Health Trusts with Asset Management including strategic service planning, right-sizing the estate, improved utilisation and lifecycle management.

Developing true activity-based design and asset management processes, tools and libraries which enable the true value of an asset to be understood and measured.

Working with ActivePlan colleagues and BRE to develop the means for manufacturers to create, share and maintain their product information in a manner that supports data/web services and will enable BIM Level 3.
